6 Ways to Pamper Yourself Before the MODA Show

6 Ways to Pamper Yourself Before the MODA Show

It's cold and snowing in Chicago and with MODA's annual fashion show less than two weeks away, now is the perfect time to try out some new and old beauty treatments. Here are some of our favorite ways to pamper yourself in the days leading up to the event!

  • A week before the event, try out a clarifying face mask; this will help draw out any breakouts and blemishes so that they don't make an appearance the night before the show. We're fans of the Origins Active Charcoal Mask ($26), but if you're looking to splurge, the Glamglow SUPERMUD ($69) is a cult favorite.
  • Exfoliate everywhere. Scrub off any dead and dry skin using a sugar scrub or loofah, and pay extra attention to knees and elbows (especially if you're planning on applying any kind of fake tanner before the show). We love the Body Shop Shea Butter Scrub ($21).

  • The day before or day of take a long bath using a product that smells good and moisturizes your skin. Laura Mercier's Crème Brûlée Honey Bath ($45) is a great, luxe option, but Lush's Butterball Bath Bomb ($5) is a great one-time product for a soothing and rehydrating bath.
  • Take care of your nails. This could be as easy as going out and getting a manicure or pedicure (or preferably, both), but we also love having a bunch of friends over for gossip, movies and nails.
  • Use a conditioning mask on your hair so that it looks and feels healthy and shiny. The Joico K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor ($20) works incredibly well, and the Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Mask ($32) is a longtime favorite.
    • The night before or day of, try using a sheet mask to brighten and plump your skin. Check out this post for more about Korean Beauty products and sheet masks! The most iconic mask to try might be the SK-II Facial Treatment Mask ($17), but we also love the Innisfree sheet masks that are ($17 for 15 masks).
